General 

Q: Is there a minimum GPA requirement to apply for Global Link?
A: There is no minimum GPA requirement.

Q: Is a TOEFL or IELTS score required to apply for Global Link?
A: No, TOEFL or IELTS score is not required. However, the programs will be conducted in English and students are expected to be able to participate in discussions and write reports in English.

Q: Will a faculty member accompany us?
A: No faculty member will accompany the students to New York. However, Professor Stephen Nagy will lead the China Program. 

Global Link NY

Q: Will there be free time during the program?
A: The program is held on weekdays. Students have most evenings and weekends free. (A couple of evening receptions will be organized.)

Q: Can we travel outside NY on weekends?
A: Students are free to travel outside NY in their free time.

Q: How many students will be accepted for the 2018 program?
A: Twelve students will be accepted.

Q: Can we stay with friends and/or family in NY?
A: We ask that you stay in the dorm with the other Global Link participants during the week. However, you may visit friends and family on weekends.

Q: Apart from the program fee, how much will it cost to participate?
A: Airfare is not included in the program fee, and students must purchase their own tickets. Breakfast is included, but most lunches and dinners are not. All other major costs are covered by the program fee. Your budget will depend greatly on what you intend to do in your free time.
